Default Kerb Surface Issue - Please Help

I have a road corridor which consists of two lanes seperated by a swept path for light rail and an island on the right side of the swept path to protect maintenance staff See images below.
My problem is the corridor surface is attaching to the wrong points on the kerb.

The island must be formed with kerbs to preserve aesthetics, as its on a bridge in the centre of an old city.

    Any ideas?

First thought, in your corridor properties for your surface, set your overhang correction to top links.
