Default create alignment from 3d polyline

Does anyone know how to generate an alignment from a 3d polyline??

I know how to create one from a 2d poly, but it does not work with a 3d poly.

Is it possible to do this???

Thank you so much for your help!!!

You either have to convert the 3D poly to 2D, or create alignment by layout and trace over the 3D poly.

Easy way to convert them to 2D poly is going to Grading=>Polyline Utilities=>Convert 3D to 2D Polylines.

If you simply want an alignment, do as Glenndp suggests. If you need the 3d as a profile, select the 3dpline, right click, create quick profile. Now, export an .xml file and select the quick profile. Now, import the .xml file and you will get an alignment along the 3d polyline and a profile representing the elevations of the polyline.

Great- that worked fine. Please, do you know how to represent on the band of the profile, the distances between the vertices of the polyline? I already have the elevations but I am missing the intermediate distances. Thank you.
