Default What Content do you want most?

    Hey everyone!

So I'm thinking of posting some (very) well-made families up on Turbosquid's new Revit content area. Just to see if one can really sell well-made Revit families.

So what would you want most? Crazy full-parametric Uber Doors? A thousand chairs? A really decent rendering materials pack for sitework? Fully parametric Calder Mobiles?

I've got something like eight years worth of content I could clean up and post. But have no idea where to start and what folks might pay for. Thoughts?

Most I have seen are requesting sanitary ware and interior families. There isn't alot of those around and the ones that are out there are usually autocad brought into Revit.

More furniture and lighting really. Not a lot of people use entourage from what I have seen. Although I think that has more to do with lack of entourage families than anything else.

    Elmo,
I notice that your sig mentions the "...highway" software (content and shortcut). I was just looking for these, but notice the website is down for maintenance (for the last month at least). Does anyone know why?

    Thanks

esentially i feel the need is for revit based models, not ones simply adapted from 3ds, sketchup, autocad etc, where one cannot make further tweaks beyond that already present... it also would allow for more effecient use of memory and would reduce file sizes for those rendering often... difficult shapes to model in revit, like complicated furniture models, sanitary ware are good examples of items lacking in current revit catalogues and places like turbo squid... yes you can do work arounds via imported formats, but nothing beats revit based models... which are often too time consuming to model well inernally... a good example is looking for a corbusier chair... the number of ow grade models is amazing... but try get one with nicely detailed curves on the cushions.. or a bed with realistic sheets and pillows and you start to see why revit content is lacking.. maybe the introduction of massing tools in 2010 will see some imporvements in this area... but this is why i have long wishes for a direct 3ds studio file import... yes yes, i know the formats are different, but the need is there! so yes, good content is always going to be in demand... current furniture made in revit is really pathetic in most cases... just compare with archicad and you will see the difference..

We've undergone extensive restructuring on both a business and technical level. BIMContentManager is to be rebranded and relaunched as BIMHighway in March and will include both content management and basic cost estimating. It will be available free of charge.

Revit is really heavily rely on available contents I think we all known that. Some categories are very lack of available contents, because those usually are not parametric.
I don't mind to spend a day or two days to create a parametric window, door or items which usually can be parametric, because I know that the time I spent on those will have great return. However, items usually cannot be parametric or one off, e.g good quality furniture or tapeware, always is the problem, because I know that is wasting time, but I come out avoid.

Wow! Free of charge, that's great. How is it coming along?
