    Default Zoom Limits

    Hey all,

This is one of those little aggravating things that have always bothered me.
It's now 2009. We are likely running quads-cores with 4gb of ram.

So. I don't really need any more early '90s "resource saving features".

I have turned off most of those annoying zoom extents/regen notifications.

But I have one left I can't figure out:
When I am zooming at a certain area, AutoCAD will lock me into some unspecified limit.
It will not let me zoom out more, even if there are entities outside my zoomed in area.
The way I have found around this is to take a line, scale it, then zoom extents.

Is this some sort of drawing/system variable I am missing?

    cheers guys!
    thanks for the help!!

hmmm, yes, i have noticed that regen will "reset" my virtual display.

I am just wondering if this can be removed? probably not right?

    can i make it bigger?

if not, i guess it's just something i have to live with.

    thanks

An easier way might be to type zoom, then a small zoom factor, like .1X
That will zoom you way out.
