Moment Symbol

I need to add moment symols to my steel framing.
for some reason when i go to the moment connection parameter in the element properties the only option it will let me select is none.

any help is always greatly appreciated.

You will need to load the symbol into your project. You will also need to check your structural settings. Make sure under the Symbolic Representation Settings tab that under your moment symbols that your frame connection is set to Connection-Moment-Filled.

- I have loaded the symbol (Connection-moment-Filled.rfa) into the project.

- Structural settings/moment Symbols/Frame Connection is set to Connection-Moment- Filled

- i still dont have any options in the instance parameters under Moment Connection Start/ or End other than the default setting of none.

any other ideas?.....anyone...

Just a wild guess, and I can't remember the specifics - but is your beam 'type' setting set to girder -- or is it set for something like a purlin that perhaps would not allow a moment type symbol?

Kind of the nit-picky difference between a foundation wall and a retaining wall - yet with important option differences, and something I wish the documentation would be a bit more lucid about.

OR, if you have successfully implemented the moment connection in another project, could you perhaps copy/paste it into the current one or otherwise match its properties?

Whatever it is, I hope you get it figured out.
