    Default problem in creating parameter

    Hi,

I want to build up a parametric blend with top and bottom
sketches controlled by a width and length parameters and
also locked to a ref line to adjust orientation.
But don't know why, just the bottom sketch follow the rules,
the top sketch, once added the top_width or top length
parameter to the overall dimension, the orientation rotated
and not followedthe ref line anymore.

    Do u know why ?

    Thanks
    Cheuk

Probably I misunderstood what the problem was...
Is this what the top of the blend ought to do?

Big thank you for that , Eddy.
That's completely what I want to achieve.

But I do have one question.
I see that you have introduced a right angle lock
in the top sketch to the ref line so that it will now follow
the axis of rotation, that's easy to understand.

But how about the bottom sketch ? There's no similar lock applied,
it can behave the top one. i.e. no matter you chage the length/width
or angle of ref line, size and orientation of the sketch will follow exactly.

    thanks

in this case, you should use the ref line as your work plane instead of locking geometry to it, Set a rotation parameter for the ref line. If you rotate the work plane (ref line), then whatever is drawn on it will rotate too.

If you check the sketch, it's already using the ref line
    as workplane.
My concern is that why the bottom sketch can follow the
ref line angle, but the top sketch doesn't.

Adding a right angle lock does fix the problem but not
answering the root of the problem.
