Default Rooms & Room Tags in Revit Structure?

Goal: I would like to be able to tag rooms in RS.
Purpose: So that I know what room I'm looking at when, in a meeting, a client is telling me to, "Cut a longitudinal building section in plan. Then in that building section, look at Room #145." I would prefer not to use plain text so that I have the ability to tag the rooms on the fly.

I work in both Revit Structure and Revit Architecture (release 2009) and realize that there are no "Room & Areas" tab in RS :S I've looked through past AUGI posts and the Help in RS and haven't successfully found anything related to what I'd like to do.

Is there a way to do create rooms and tag them or a workaround?

You can create area's in Revit Structure, however they have taken the item out of the design bar and put it in the menu options.

Rooms you can put in your Structure model if you have Revit Architecture. If not then not this is not an option.
I would prefer to have Revit MEP and Structure that way you access to all the Architectural tools, rather then Structure and Architecture which still ,limits you from the MEP tool sets.

Assuming the architecture is a Revit Model with rooms you can display a specific view and its annotation in your model by overridding the display settings for the view, for the link. This will let you display this information without having to do the work.

If you are referring to modelling such information and the architect is not using Revit or it isn't a Revit model regardless then you can use RAC to create your model by adding rooms and then switch to RST when you need to do structural work. Both applications can open the file and contribute the information you need. You just lack access to some of the tools in either application.

    Good luck!

Is there still no workaround or extension in RS 2012 that will allow one to create rooms and room tags similar to RA?
