Lightbulb Linetypes appear to be continuous when file is Xref'd

I have a user who is experiencing the following problem:

When he xrefs drawing A into drawing B, the linetype of layers in drawing A are turning to continuous in drawing B. When you open drawing A, the layers have linetypes associated to them in the layer dialog but those properties are lost when xreferenced. This is only happening on one machine so it must be a setting that I cannot seem to find. He is NOT using custom linetypes.

    Thank you.

It sounds as if your linetype scales from your x ref to the sheet its xref'd into are not matching up..try looking at that by typing lts....

    Hi

Is this occurring within the Layer Dialog Box or just how it Appears (looks) on Screen?

If Layer Dialog Box, take a look at the following threads (Hint -> VisRetain) -

    Layer states

Base File and XREF color update

Layers keep having plot turned off

If Appears on Screen, first check LTScale as advised above, plus that the correct Linetype file (.LIN) file is being loaded / read.

    Have a good one, Mike

Exclamation Re: Linetypes appear to be continuous when file is Xref'd

Here's some additional info re: the original issue:
The layers xreferenced from drawing A into drawing B are in fact working okay. The line types are associated NOT with the layer after all, but with each line independently. Again, the line types will not display correctly in drawing B.

Here's a new twist: there is a drawing C, which also xreferences drawing A. The line types in drawing A are displaying CORRECTLY in drawing C.

I have compared drawings B and C, and they are identical in terms in global LTSCALE, VISRETAIN, INDEXCTL and in every other sense I can think of.
I have purged and run an audit on drawing B.
I have dumped the viewport in drawing B (which is set to the same scale as in drawing C), and created a new one in the event that it got corrupted.
I have also dumped the xref and reattached it. The xref is placed on the same layer which is defined exactly the same in both drawing B and C.
The xref has not been scaled in any way.
The result? The linetypes still will not display correctly in drawing B, but WILL display correctly in drawing C.

    What have we overlooked?

    Just a thought -

is Shademode set to 2dwireframe in each viewport?

Shademode is indeed set to 2dwireframe in each viewport for both drawings B and C.

    Maddening, isn't it?

    Hi

In each drawing file (A, B & C) what are the following system variables set to -

    Measurement
    PSLTScale

Can you possibly ZIP up the three drawing files (A, B & C) and post here so we can take a look.

    Have a good one, Mike

    Hi again!
psltscale (set to "1" for both drawings) fixed the problem. Thanks!
