We need vertical flip controls
Summary: Revit works in all directions, not just in one horizontal plane, thus it only makes sense that flip controls can be placed in an elevation view in Family Editor.

At first I thought you meant so you could mirror (or flip) the object vertically - but I see what you mean now - in elevation you should be ablt to put flip controls on, say , a door and flip it left or right etc
