    Default Daylight Lines

Ok I am using Civil 3D 2009. I am creating Flat Pads that are approx. 200 x 400. My Finish Grade surface is sloping to the Existing surface. So where the surface's meet they show the daylight line. But what I need to do is instead on tracing the outline is their a way the make a 3dpolyline from that. I need this because I need to trim a few sections and sense it is part of the surface you can't trim it? Does anyone have any ideas or do you need more information ? and what info?

You can explode the grading object. The daylight line will be left behind. Then you can convert it into a feature line then add it to the surface. While you make your changes it will update the surface.
