I have to say this is the most useful thing I've downloaded so far from this Forum.
This Revit grid family works like a charm. Even when I export to Navisworks 2009, it still shows up perfectly with the TEXT. It solves the grid label invisible problem I had earlier this week. Thank you very much. PS I do have a question though. What happens if the grid line needs to be curved, how can I tweek it? |

You're welcome, I'm glad it works well for you.
I just thought of something for curved grids but I haven't tested it yet. It may be possible to use a railing as a grid since you can curve railings. The grid family that I have nested into this family could be used as a baluster...this idea is kind of far out there but you may want to give it a shot. |

Cool. I will try to play around when I have time. For the time being, your revit family problem did solve my earlier problem perfectly. Thanks once again.

This is a MUCH better solution than what we had brewed up here in-house previously!
VERY NICE |

So, does the interest in grids here mean people would like to see built-in grid support in Navisworks 2011? (I'd make this a poll but I'm not sure how

I think we need to see more than just the standard grids from Revit in Navisworks. A customizable grid in Navisworks would be great. David's grid family is exactly what grids in Navisworks should look like.

I agree. Customizable grid is a good idea. Like the grid not in a straight line, but in some irregular forms (elliptical, parabolic, or multi-segmented, etc.)
