    Default AutoCAD Warning on opening

I get this warning every time I open AutoCAD (see attached). It's bogus. I don't remember the fix but know that there is an easy one.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

Well I've seen something like this before, and looking at your screen shot, I bet there's a "Add-A-Plot Style Table.lnk" and a "Add-A-Plotter-Wizard.lnk" (shortcuts) at "y:\autocad configuration files\pen tables\.." directory.
And they shouldn't be there, the default is something like: C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\R21.0\enu\Plotters

I don't know what causes those shortcuts to be created in the wrong place but it happens now and then at my work.
I would verify you have them at the default locations and remove them from the "y:\" drive in your screen shot, that should fix it.

Go find and delete that shortcut and any others (if file extensions are visible, these are .LNK files)

Thanks, guys! I do not have the authority to delete the offending files, so I took them out of my search path. Problem solved

HAHAHAHAHHHHH, until I went to plot!

Of course the print/plot parameters/tools are in the network location, not my local, so I added the offending paths back in and will put up with the warning message. It's not my call or right to delete the shortcuts.

LOL well at least you know the issue.
Have your IT dude or cad manager (or whoever had the rights) delete them..

That usually happens here when someone edits the plot style or PC3 from inside AutoCAD with rights to that folder.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm only 3 weeks in this position so I'm going to wait a bit before I take any action. I'm gaining the favor of the principals and want that favor cemented before I rock the boat, even a little.

Hmm, interesting that dgorsman had this to say: That usually happens here when someone edits the plot style or PC3 from inside AutoCAD with rights to that folder.

The shortcuts are bad links, so they really should be deleted or fixed. Maybe I'll get one of my engineers to delete them.

The .lnk file is typically pointing to a path which you do not have access to. This is usually when the plotters and plot styles folders are copied to a network path from a previous (or different) version than is currently being used.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.
