When I start acad ADT 2004 and try to open a drawing, I don't get the open file dialog box, I have to type it in from the command line. This is a real pain because the paths are long and this is not cost effective. Any ideas anyone.

Have a good one, Mike
Hey I had same problem and found the solution right here.
Set "Filedia" to = 1
Thank you
Hey y'all - just today joined AUGI. Now 2:30 PM and I have been fighting the "FILE OPEN" problem since 8AM!!! Slightly biffed by now. Found 3 file open problems stated, this was closest to mine - I'm using 2k5 - installed in Jan. the FILEDIA=1 worked fine there too. Having trouble finding the "test box" to enter a problem. Need a map I guess.
Good news, the daffodils are blooming in northern OK - spring IS on the way!!
Regards.
You can always type ~ and hit return to get a dialogue box too.
Is it just me, or is this a stupid issue to have to deal with. Why would you ever not want a dialog box?
When you are writing a lisp routine or a script file. You can't manipulate the dialog with either of these and need the command line version.Originally Posted by MMccall.83699
Hey, I like dialog boxes, too, but I grew up on DOS.Originally Posted by MMccall.83699
