Question Learning 3D drawings in AutoCAD 2005

Hello, I just installed AutoCAD 5 and am beginning to re-introduce myself to all the things I have forgotten over the summer. I am interested in getting on the fast track to 3D drawing, so I have been reading the Intro to 3D objects tutorials. It is a little fuzzy because I never really learning about absolute coordinates (you know, the ones you need to understand as you go flying off the Z axis), so I need some information on how to understand and manipulate those x and y coords. I don't know where to start, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I am willing to do all the reading I need to get a handle on this. Thanks in advance,

One of the easiest methods for me, draw most
everything in top view, and then use align to bring
the various pieces into alignment in the assembly.
You will also want to look into the UCS command,
most common in 3d is the Object option.
    And the UCSFOLLOW system variable.

First - be sure to enable the 3d view toolbar. When you use any of the six orthogonal view buttons the UCS changes to match the new view so you are always working in plan.

Alos handy to have ucsII open, as you can work from an ortho view, and change the ucs with the dropdown to suit the direction you are working in.
