    Default File Size

    Some of my CAD Drawings size become too big, I erased all object and purged, and removed all filter now the drawing is empty no image etc etc....but still the file size is 1.4 MB if anyone can help me... ?

    Thanks for everybody.......file size still the same ...when am audit...it found 13600 objects...the drawing is still empty....

    Have ya tried "undo"? That would bring all that stuff back.
    You say you removed everything from the drawing. What about starting a new drawing?

    We used to write what we wanted to keep off to a block (in modelspace). Then we could open up that block as a separate drawing, minus a ton of hitchhikers. Then whatever we wanted to keep from paperspace we would copy over via clipboard.

    When you purge, make sure you are on a layer you want to keep, and make sure you purge all nested items.

    Another thing you might try if you haven't already is to build the model in a separate drawing file, and then insert that as an XREF so you can manipulate it (copy and clip etc.) for differing purposes. We have found this really reduces file size.

    In short, a variety of solutions taken together should work just fine.
