hi,
I would need to import text labels from a shp file into autodesk map (2005/2006) text entities with attached object data. the text string and the object data comes from a shp attribute table. this works great with import/shp, but I do get MTEXT entities, but I would need TEXT entities. when exploding those mtext entities to text, the object data ia lost (set to default). Is there any idea how i can do this automatically (maybe a lisp script or vba). I spent about 2 days and was very surprised, that this could be so complicated. another way would be to link the text to an external DB (MS Access) and then copy the values from the DB-fields to the obcect data table field. is this possible and how?? thanks for any help |

Is there a reason they need to be text objects instead of Mtext?
If you know lisp you can write a lisp to convert the mtext to text and copy the object data over. Post a sample of what you need and you might get some help if you need it.
