When I publish a drawing to a pdf from cad, when it has finished publishing, I get the balloon notification that its finished. When I right click, I select view plotted file..... when I do that, I get a messege that says ..."You do not have a pdf viewing application installed". I have the latest version of adobe reader installed. I have uninstalled everything on my pc related to adobe & went back and reinstalled the latest version of reader. Still get the error messege.
Can anyone offer some help ? Driving me batty !!!! Andy |

just wondering if you use the export feature to export to pdf?
Have you tried printing it onto pdfs?? |

I am also having this problem with AutoCAD LT 2010 and 2011.
When publishing AND exporting to PDF I get the message "you do not have a pdf viewing application installed." It's only on certain drawings that it happens, which makes no sense to me. I've purged everything, deleted unnecessary page setups, etc. Nothing helps. Plotting using adobe acrobat works fine, except that I have to change the file name every time. Tinkering around a while back, I discovered that a pdf was actually being created but it was corrupt. So for some reason the publish and export are corrupting the pdf's. NOW, the pdf is simply not being created at all. would love to know if there is a fix for this or what could be causing it. EDIT: we also discovered that we can publish the same drawing on another computer with no trouble at all. Last edited by Spectrefish : 2010-05-06 at 05:14 PM. Reason: added another fact |

This is a shot in the dark but if you go into tools/optins and look in the files. Make sure the Driver files point to the correct location.
Go into the "add a plotter" Add a test plotter and try creating the pdf again, sometimes Acad just needs a kick start. The last thing I can think of is to type PLOT, look in the PORT tab and see that is it plotting "to file" Good luck!

Has anyone noticed the little checkbox in the Publish dialog to view the results? Try clearing that checkbox.
