    Default pipe styles keep changing

    hello

has anyone using 2015 civil 3d had any problems with the pipe style changing back to standard after you synchronize the pipe network? i have a drawing that has a data shortcut and when i open the drawing or synchronize it will change back to standard style. it is very frustrating, any ideas on how to fix it?

Ohh bother, I've kept Alan waiting entirely too long for this - thanks for the reminder, J_Gardella.

Install SP3. It includes the fix, which is actually in SP1.

    Thank you, RK; as always.

Looking back, our other thread started back in 2013, and Alan was(is?) using 2013, even after reviving the thread in early 2015. Haha

    Cheers

I recall when this started happening. The only workaround was to close the DWG w/o syncing, then open the DWG again.
    What a waste of time.

What allowed me to forget about this altogether was I simply changed our workflow; pipes were drawn in our Profile model drawing, so no DREF needed (we don't use PPT; just XREF the Profile model).

Our profile drawings are usually a separate, empty DWG, with the alignment, surface(s), and pipe network(s) d-ref'ed in.

Are you then referencing this profile drawing into your plan and profile sheet drawing? Does this speed up your load times?
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

    Yes, and I'm not sure.
It does provide two more advantages (for us at least).
    1. Multiple drawings allow multiple people to work on them simultaneously.
    2. A corrupt or damaged DWG file containing one profile is better than a corrupt or damaged DWG containing all the profiles for a project.
