That's one reason for subscription, you spread the cost annually instead of one lump sum. And you get the added benefit of using the most current software. However, I havn't been able to convince my supervisors of this. They still fear the "impact" of an upgrade. A lot of users don't like/handle change very well. But, when you only upgrade every 3-4 years, the changes are more significant. I believe that if you plan an upgrade well, you can greatly minimize the impact for users.Each upgrade is a major investment for us.
