Default AutoCAD Electrical Symbols

Are there globally recognised symbols used when making electrical drawings? How can I get these? Any ideas, anyone?

I come across lots of different symbols for particular item when handling electrical drawings. It takes precious time off the actual editing as I make frequent trips to and from the legends which usually is a separate drawing.

Have you tried a google search?. You may come across some standard stuff among those links.

Hi

The following post is always a good place to start for such requests (in my humble opinion)...

Wisdom, I might not be following your question but I understanc that JIC is the standard used in the US, and ACAD E comes with this simblogy OTB.

Please elaborate on what you are looking for and I will try to help.

Wisdom, I probably did not understand your question, but ACE comes with standard symbol libraries. Please elaborate on your question and I will try to help.

Best Regards.

ACE has IEC European Symbols as well as JIC Electrical Symbols included in the software. My company just bought the 2008 package and it's great. I was using SolidWorks DWGEditor previously. Now I can relate all the dwg's to each other.
