Default How to create multiple copies of views through sheet set manager?

    Hi:

Some times we have, for example , on a detail sheet view ports which are all the same size and set at the same scale. In the past we would copy them over and then pan to the new detail instead of creating a whole new view port. Now we insert them as sheet views but it takes a long time resizing each view port and then panning etc.

Is there and easier way to to do this through the sheet set manager? I have tried copying the view port but it isn't recognised by the SSM as a new view.

    Thanks.

    M

    Try this...

    1. Start in model space. Hit V return and create your new view.
    2. Save your file.
    3. Open the file in the layout you wish to place the view in.
    4. Open the SSM and choose model views'
    5. use 'add new location' to browse to your original file, or hit 'refresh' if you already have this location available.
    6. Your view will appear in the list, right click and drag to place it on the sheet.
    7. Once the 'ghost' of the view port appears right click again to scale it.
    8. Left click to place your view.
    9. Lock the viewport
    10. Save

Make sure that you create the view boundary to show just what you want to see in the viewport, this will save panning and re-sizing. Read up on creating callout blocks for the SSM, you can use the SSM to automatically place a callout title block for your new viewport.
