I found a bug in MAP 3D 2008. To reproduce it, maximize Map, turn of the task pane (or undock) and select the View Scale dropdown in the status bar, select Custom. The resulting dialog will appear halfway off the screen. Since it doesn't have a titlebar, you can't drag it back into view. This has been reported. Here are 3 workarounds.
