Revit Wishes appears to be going the right way
Default True 64-bit support.

Summary: Add "true" 64-bit support to Revit so users can dedicate more than 3GB of RAM to Revit.

Description: Add 64-bit support to Revit so we can use more than 3GB of Ram.

How Used: This would allow working in much larger models with greater stability and performance

Absolutely! This is the greatest limitation of the program for contractors' use. We typically use one model per trade, all loaded into a 'federated' model. I have numerous projects that I have to coordinate one trade model at a time with architectural and structural models... very annoying.
