Revit Wishes appears to be going the right way
Default "Mode-less" properties dialog

Summary: Make the properties dialogue so that it can be left open and docked to the side of the screen, rather than having to close it to see changes that have been made.

Description: Change the properties dialogue so that it can be left open and docked to the side of the screen, rather than having to close it to see changes that have been made.

How Used: This would require a "mode-less" properties palette like in AutoCAD, the options of which change depending upon which object is selected. It could even auto-hide when not in use.

Feature Affinity: Other
