kbiv is infamous around these parts
Default Automatic wire numbers

ACADe2k7 will not auto number wires connected to certain components that I've created using symbol builder. If I cut them so they're not connected it will do it but if they're attached it won't.

what does your components consist of? Do you have terminal points? X4TERM01? It might even be your wire layers not your component. Is the line on a wire layer? What does the history read; AutoCAD Text Window (F2) after you try to automate the wire number? Oh, is the wire number there and just not updating? Maybe a picture would help.
