Cool Generating multiple drawings from standard

I have a set of standard circuit drawings which I wish to use to generate specific drawings, the infomation which changes is basically text title, location and tagging information. This infomation presently resides in an Access data base. The concept is to use one field in the database to select the specific typical drawing, then use the asociated fields in this record to then populate the title, description, tags etc on the drawing.

I am sure the process must be similar to changing component atributes but must insert it into the drawing border or onto the background of the drawing.

Puzzled and scratching head.

Hi,
Did you ever figure this out? It sounds very cool! Plus complicated. Maybe some one from Autodesk could help. Let us know when you get this up and running. I have used excel to generate PLC drawings, yet that is in the help file.
Very exciting thought process, and extremely creative on your part.

Cool Re: Generating multiple drawings from standard

We're using ACADE 2010, it has a 'Copy Project' option from the ribbon. It uses the existing project of your choice as a template, then in the next window you get to rename and 'save as' along with options to change lots of other attributes in the title block.

I have started copying projects I wish to use into a 'Standard Items' area to use as templates. As 'Standard Item' templates I can give them more meaningfull names, whereas in the present project states they are just numbers.

Hope that helps.
