Default Copying Wire Types

Is there any way to copy the wire types created in one drawing to another drawing? I've tried using the layer states manager but it doesn't copy the wire color and size.

When I started this project my template was not completely evolved to contain the correct wire types, so early sheets of the project are out of sync.

Thanks,
Edward

Hi Edward,
Sorry for the delay in response. There are a few of us here yet if you need more information, Autodesk has a wonderful discussion group that is responded to from Autodesk employees. Here we are based on volunteers. Try not to get too discouraged. We all try our best and as I do not know the right answer except that I do not think there is a way. I can try and help you with a “back door”. Hopefully you have solved the dilemma and if so please share with us here.

Ok, for the “back door” approach…I created a script file to create the default layers into the drawing. Next I created a default.wdw file. This file is a project related file for AutoCAD electrical. This file will add the Wire Color/Gauge Label. See the electrical help file for detailed information. I have attached both files for your review as a guild line.
If you have farther questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Or if you would like to see a specific topic discussed in a class format.
Attached Files
File Type: zip wirelayer.zip (1.0 KB, 6 views)

Hi Reneta,

Thanks for the reply. I ended having to put in the wire types manually to meet a deadline, but this information will definately come in handy in the future.
