2009 Detail Component Line Styles

Has anyone found a way to put a dashed line into a detail component? I am working on a door jamb detail and need to show a tab that would insert into masonry and then the frame would be filled with grout. I'm trying to avoid having to create a series of short lines that are constrained together.

Just to be clear, I am making this detail component as a family.

While in the Family Editor for the detail component, go to Settings/Object Styles, and make a new object/line under Detail Components, then you can assign this a dashed, or Hidden line pattern.
