Hello:

After executing "Purge Unused", there are categories present in the Object Styles "Imported Objects" tab that I know are empty. Is there any way to get rid of these pesky categories?

You should be able to simply delete any object styles that are not in use. Settings>Object Styles>Imported Objects, then click on the subcategory that should be gone, & 'Delete' Should become an active option. Does this not work for you?

The delete option is grayed out...

Are you going through VG or through Settings>Object styles? Are they under 'Imports in families'?

If you cant delete them through object styles, it means there are still families in the project that use those layers. Even if none of the families are being used, their layers will still have object styles until you delete them all completely.

Liz:

These categories are not listed under "Imports in Families". They are listed under "Imported Objects".

I am using a 3rd party application (Ideate Explorer) that lists all entities contained in the project. There are no objects linked to these categories.

Hm..... Im not sure what to tell you; I have never used that app, but it has been my experience that if it exists in that list it is still in the project.

I found the solution to this problem...

Several families contained unpurged imported symbols. After I purged and reloaded these families, the problemmatic "Imported Object" categories disappeared.

It would be great if there was a way to quickly review the subcategories contained in a family. I had to go through the project families one-by-one until I found the source of the trouble.
