For as long as I can remember I have typed "d" to delete objects selected. Now, it starts a dimension string - which is driving me nuts. I cannot find a listing for the Delete command in the shortcut's txt file. Am I missing something?
I notice that the headings, or groupings, are not the same as previous versions.
thanks.

Try
"DE" ribbon:"ContextualTab-Modify-Delete"

It's there - look for:
"DE" ribbon:"ContextualTab-Modify-Delete"
You can also add that at the top, in the "Preferred order section" if you want that to take priority over Dimension.

I don't understand....the shortcut for delete on my keyboard is, well, "Delete" :?
Though DE does work too. :)

hmm...I did not see that; will look, or add the line. Thanks.
Yes, the delete button is waaaaaay over on the top right of my keyboard - too far for my left hand to type. The new ribbon is forcing me to be more icon and screen oriented than i have been in previous releases. thanks.

+1
Though I agree that's a right-hand key and needs your right hand to come off the mouse.

I tend to hold the delete key and than click the items I want to delete though. Left hand way over to the right.

I must add, I use the Delete key as well - my left hand isn't afraid of traveling way over to the right when my right is occupied on the mouse. ;)
