Workflow to Civil/Landscape ??

So, here I sit scratching my head trying to figure out how to streamline our SOP to civil and landscape. As a firm we've sort of left civil and landscape dangling in the wind with our main focus being structural and mechanical integration into our Revit world. We do our exports to AutoCAD and then are left with a lot of layer clean up to create bases. Part of our issue is because of the lack of site tools we create site based in-place families with multiple sub-categories. Then using the layer settings within the export options we can get close to our corrected AutoCAD layers for civil and landscape. The real problem is everytime we update site design we have to jump through the same clean up in AutoCAD. Anyone care to share their process for creating AutoCAD bases for civil and landscape?

In Revit 2010, there is the ability to export to a special file format for getting the information into Civil 3D. This may, or may not be a good thing.
