new construction is transparent in 3D view

I am attaching a new elevator shaft onto an existing building. Only in 3D view, the elevator shaft walls are transparent. I checked the phase filter settings, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary, and tried deleting the view and creating a new 3D view and the elevator shaft is still transparent. Any ideas?? Thanks!

so it does not show-up transparent in elevation or sections?

correct, the walls are only transparent in 3D View

I have found that pushing the latest service pack gets rid of this.
