Does Revit 2010 only export to ACAD 2010?

Is there a way to export to a earlier version of ACAD?

Thanks

Once you click 'export', you get the option to pick your version.

Where is the option?

click the R in the upper left corner. Select export, cad formats, dwg. This should bring up the 'Export CAD Formats' dialog window. Select the views you want to export and click 'Export'. Now you should have the window where you select where you save it. You should have a dropdown menu for file types. Hope that was clearer.

Another minor downside with Revit 2010 is that the setting you choose for version of AutoCAD, like for example AutoCAD version 2004, is not a persistent setting like it was in Revit 2009. So, you have to remember to set it every single time you export an AutoCAD file. Which results in folks regularly and inadvertently sending AutoCAD 2010 files to consultants who are not on that version.... which is all of our consultants who aren't on Revit.

I don't see that behaviour in 2009 - I need to select the Acad version each time.

I stand corrected. It does default to ACAD 2007 in Revit 2009, which I guess wasn't a problem more often than not because most of the consultants were on 2007 or later. But now we are getting calls because none of them are on 2010.

I thought it was a bug because the response from Autodesk support was the dreaded: "Development is aware of this issue".
