Viewport Backgroud

Is there any way to make the background of a viewport opaque instead of transparent? It would help significantly in drawings where space is limited, especially since we can not change the shame of the crop region.

well at the moment I am using a white solid fill region as a background...but there must be a better solution...i find myself having to use too many workarounds lately :)
