any way to get the level line in elevations and sections to split into two (so that the middle part is empty)

I don't think you can completely turn off the level lines themselves but you can change the linestyle in the type properties and the colour - so you could make the line a sparse dashed type and white and it would pretty much disappear?

Then you could edit the circle head family and add a line of a style more to your taste which would only project as far as you wanted?

Can't see how to do it otherwise.

for some reason line weight changes but colour is always black regardless of the line style..

Level lines do NOT have the ability to be split.

I seem to get mine to print out in this lilac colour (see attached bit of pdf plot)...

It seems to be set in the level line properties - I guess I duplicated and edited the default family type properties long ago.

I use dot 1mm as the line style but if you were using a Line Style listed in Settings->Line Styles you might have to set the colour there.

This has been a wish of ours as well.
It's been on the wishlist (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=13053) for some time.
