View Full Version : Restoring 3D Views

Somebody went in and "Cleaned up" a model for us.
Don't know who, and don't know when, but whoever it was decided we didn't need all those 3D Views, since we had already made JPGs of them.
Problem is, we have since made design changes and now we want to update the images. But we no longer have the original camera angle.

I can restore the project from backup tapes, and find those Views, but is there any way to get the View into the current project? Neither Transfer Project Standards or Insert From File...Views can grab a 3D View.

Can I maybe Show Camera and Copy/Paste from Project to Project?
Any other ideas?

I think you can get your idea of show camera, copy, paste to work if you have both projects open in the same session of Revit.

I tried it within the same project and it worked....learn something new everyday!

Not sure which version you're using, but this does work in 2010. Just copy the camera and Paste Aligned in the other project. Make sure you're copy/pasting the cameras into the same view(IE: Level 1 Floor Plan) from project to project.

An alternative solution is to fire the rampant view deleting heathen. :)
