View Full Version : 2010- Duplicating a View opens both?

So, if im on a Sheet, and i need a duplicate of another view that is somewhere else (either duplicate with detailing, or duplicate as dependant), i typically right click in the browser, duplicate as necessary, View Tab back to the sheet, and place it.

However, it now appears that when you create the duplicate in the browser, not only does it open the view you created (the duplicate) but it opens the view you duplicated as well, so you have to view tab twice.

Not a big deal, but i wonder why they changed it? For me it seems weird to have both copies of the view opened. Does it do that for everyone?

I just did the same operation....while in a sheet view I selected an elevation from the Browser and selected duplicate. When I did this it only opened the duplicate elevation.

Not only does your problem sound annoying, it is also confusing if you are not paying attention.

Well im glad to hear its a localized problem, because it is confusing, lol...

I havent tried an Elevation yet, so ill do that now. Try a plan, if you will, and see if it does it for you then.

Youre in 2010, right?

EDIT: I just tried it, it does it with elevations as well.

SO i have NO elevations opened, i go to the browser, Right click East elevation, Duplicate with Detailing, and now i have Copy of East Elevation, East Elevation, AND the sheet i was on, opened.

Hehe...

Yeah I am in 2010 and can not duplicate your problem. I even tried it with floor plans, roof plans and sections.

I would almost want to bet that the problem goes away by Monday morning......

Never mind. I have been selecting duplicate....now that I selected duplicate with detailing I get the same problem. (I did not catch that part of your first post)

This must defentily be a bug.

Hrrm. Okay, thanks for the info.

It does it on Duplicate with Dependant too. I'll file a support request.
