Adding a Covered Porch

Two story house, having trouble extending roof line to create a covered porch that seperates the 2nd level, any suggestions?

Could you attach a rough sketch of what shape you're trying to make?

Brand new to Revit, I did create a rough shape, just not sure how to show it as only 1/2 of the roof for the overhang portion.

I mean just do a quick doodle in Paint or whatever - I'm having trouble visualising the shape you're trying to make!

Just add the porch as another roof.

There are sample files for Imperial and Metric, but the Metric ones are way better. Check out the Roof Forms file and make sure you look at the sheet views and you will see explanations for a variety of different roof types. The other sample files are great too. Fences, Railings, Stairs.
