Hi All,

suggestions appreciated.

I have a client with an existing metal framed industrial shed they are about to refurb.

Suggestions on how most efficently to show the walls, noting that the metal sheeting (cladding) will be replaced (demolished & new sheeting installed). I'm not that worried about seeing the individual steel framing in the walls (steel z section girts in this case) i just want to show the nominal overall thickness of the wall IE: 200 z section + 45 thick metal cladding

Model the cladding as seperate walls, and use Join Geometry on them and the rest of the walls. That will make doors and openings cut through both.

Demo the wall that is just the metal panels...

Hey there,
That trick also works for walls which are within 6" of each other.
And, if you don't want to model it for time savings, simply use the linework tool and select a 'Demolished" line only for the Demo Plan.
Good Luck
