Hello, I'm new to this site.
I've been using 2009 for a month of so. We are a survey firm and need our line types for existing utilities to have slanted text. (i.e. overhead electric - the OH should be slanted). The line types are fine in Land Desktop and the LIN file is correct. The text style is set for an oblique of 22.
Basically everything seems to be set correctly but the lines still won't oblique?
Has anyone had this problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?
The company that helps us with this sort of stuff thinks maybe it's a shape file issue but can't offer me a solution so I though I'd try here?
I'm not familiar with shape files... any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
There seems to be a bug - obliquing doesn't work in linetypes. I'm not sure when this problem started, but it's been around for a while now - it might have started in 2009. It's still a problem in 2010.
The only workaround I know of is to use a font that is already italic when you create your text style. This means using an italic shape font, or using a True-Type Font set to "Italic" style.
Thanks SINC I'll give it a try.
