So I'm FINALLY playing with 2010 a little more, problem is i'm in the conceptual massing, and i don't understand where the old style "revolve/sweep" are. I've got the line work i need, but i can't make a revolve, I feel i'm simply overlooking something, unless i'm not and they removed these simple commands? ugh.

thanks ahead of time.

his videos are nice and all, but they're most of the time clear as mud, and it still doesn't answer HOW to get a revolve, he just does it with no explanations of the tools..

with that said, i tried doing one like he did, and it works, but i don't understand how the hell the window at the bottom shows up. Second, i tried doing it where the curved face it attached to the line that i want to act as the axis, and all it does it create a regular extrusion. Again, that's cause i don't see how to get the window that shows the different options for creating a form.

thanks for the cheap plug to his site none the less... but it remains without an answer as to HOW to get the revolve to work when desired.

Draw a profile. Draw a straight line in the same plane as the profile but either a) extend the lines above and beow the profile or b) draw the line so it doesn't touch the profile. This straight line is the axis of rotation.

Then select the profile and the line and click the Create Form button. Revit will run through a series of calculations and if more than one type of form can be made, the thumbnails will appear so that you can pick the shape you can. (I've seen up to 3 thumbnails presented) Pick the revolve thumbnail if its appropriate.
