Hi all,
Whenever I place a room in Revit 2010, it always starts with 'Room 2' - Even in a totally new project with just 4 walls making a space...
Why?
Has anyone else experienced this???
Any help much appreciated!!
Thanks

hadn't noticed that
and upon making schedule, there is only the single room "2"
checking revit 2009 - it does the same thing...

At some point in time, you probably had a room in your template file named Room 1. Now when you start a new project it goes to Room 2 by default as the next room. If you go back into your template file, place a room, rename it Room 0 or Room 100. Your new projects will start correctly with 1 or 101.

That's because whoever put the template together (yes, I know it's Autodesk!) probably placed a room into the project just to test, then deleted it. That room would have been called Room 1, so the next room you add when you use the template will automatically be called Room 2.
Just edit your template and create a room. Rename it to Room 0 then delete it and save your template. From then on, whenever you use your template, then first room added will be Room 1.
Hope that helps!

Awesome!
Thanks guys :)
Edit: ok... so how do you open just the template file to change? Just start a new project with the default template and then save it as a template (with the same name and in the same location)???

Use the file open command, check the file type at the bottom to insure it is, or has .rte as a type, and navigate to where your template (set in File Locations) under settings.
