Any ideas on how to draw structure (angles) and panels (shaped 4x8 sheets) for a tapered offset elliptical cone?

We modeled the cone using a mass and applied walls to the mass but now I need to model the structure and actual panels which are faceted and not curved. Still in R2009.

I would like to be able to draw a sweep between the two points but I am not sure how or even if it is possible to set up reference planes for each line.

Any ideas?

Just thinking here...
Try making a mass family that is a blend using a polygon shape for the base and then a polygon shape for the top. You could create parameters that indicate the x,y offset of the top polygon from the bottom polygon. This will give you the faceted form you need.

I ended up doing that to draw the basic form. But now I need to draw the components (steel angle at each vertex, steel angle at 8' verticals and panels as edges). I tried using the faces as working planes but it will only allow that on two of the faces and not the others.
