Is there a way I can get the Existing Grade (Hidden Linetype) to have the Linetype Generation Enabled (So that the line type doesn't look like a continuous in parts and hidden in others) I paged through all the other threads and didn't see anything about this but couldn't find anything. Any help to get this out would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I just took a look at the General Properties and it says that the linetype generation is set to "yes" but it doesn't show that way in the profile. The attached picture is of the existing grade of what I'm getting in my profile.

To show the linetype generation the profile must be dynamic and linked to a surface. Its a know issue.

I'm still a bit of a newb to the whole Civil 3D, but I thought all the profiles were dynamic? The existing surface and the proposed surface was brought in through a data shortcut. Is that what you're referring to when you say that the surface has to be linked? Thanks for the reply.

Profiles don't have to be dynamic. The profiles you draw out using the layout tools will of course not be, and a profile that was created from a surface can be unlinked from the surface. Right-click on the profile view and go into the profile view properties. In one of the tabs, the profile tab I believe (don't have C3D on this machine so going from memory), there will be a list showing all the profiles in that view. There you should see if its linked or not.
