Ceiling Grid & Space

In our office we set the ceiling grid to be its own construct so multiple people can work on different aspects of the project. We would like to set the ceiling grid to be linked to the space but can't because the space is in a separate construct. Is there anyway to "scan xrefs" for ceiling grids similar to the way you would a schedule? Please let me know.
