View Full Version : "Auto" Generate Walls from Room Seperator lines
Can Revit "auto-generate" walls from room separator lines?
Have a bunch of Revit room separators generated from an imported existing CAD drawing used for scheduling....now want to add Revit walls.
Thanks.

When placing walls, you can "pick lines", and if you hold the tab key down,
it will auto-select lines in a chain. ( i.e. a rectangle drawn with Room Separation Lines ).
Other than that, I don't think you can auto-generate walls from lines.
cheers.......

Yeah, that's how I would do it also. BUT... you have to remember to delete the Room Separation Line afterwards. If you have walls that co-exist in the same location as an RS Line, it can mess up the wall join conditions.

It might be better to do this...
Export the room separation sketch (only those lines) to a DWG.
Delete the room separation lines.
Link in the DWG.
Use pick to place the walls. You won't have to deal with all the Revit warning messages.
Remove the link.
