Revit for Breakfast

I'm using Revit as the front end of a manufacturing facility. We use an Enterprise resource planning (ERP), a company-wide computer software system used to manage and coordinate all the resources, information, and functions of a business from shared data stores.

Without voiding the Revit warranty, would anyone know how to map shared Parameters out of my revit schedules into a format which could be read by the ERP? Currently, I'm looking at doing a fair bit of manual entry otherwise.

EEK!

I dont know much about what youre trying to do and with what... But do you mean just get the FIELDS of the Shared Parameters out, or get the fields with the data in them from the Revit objects in the model?

If you just want the fields, i would try getting the ERP to recognize the Shared Parameters Text file where they are stored...

If the latter, perhaps a Database Export? Or, Revit files can sort of be converted to XML which is readable by a lot of wares...

It was the latter, we use so much of the data in the schedules that it would be nice to have the two program communicating nicely.

I'm am far from techie (to prove it, my personal computer is a Mac) so this stuff is very foreign to me, but I know what the end result needs to be and I have an ERP specialist at work so I should be alright.

It is possible to create a bi-directional link to an Access Database, so what you are trying to accomplish should also be possible.

The solution is in the realm of .dll files and perhaps the Revit SDK.

I'm not a coder, so this as far as I can help.

I saw the database link while at HOK.

Hoping Autodesk has this on their list...

Good Luck.

You may want to take a look at this add-in for Revit family of products, it may do some of what you are looking to do.
