I tried the new shadows function in my elevations, It looks great, it Help me to give depth to the plain lines elevations that Revit create by default (no lineweight values). However, when I try to print using the raster option it takes for ever to complete the job, it generates a huge files, and worse of all the surface pattern of my roof (Spanish tile) looks just black.
Terrible experience, I really was looking forward to use this feature to help me to improve my elevations, I hope the factory include this comment and fix the problem.
Thanks

Wag, I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a bad time with Revit 7. We've found that the shadows are working well, other than they take longer to print/pdf, and now the boss wants them on everything...

Do you have the 'profile' thing turned on too? and is the lineweight of your roof tile pattern light enough? Also, I've been setting most 3D views to 70% sun and 35% shadow, for I've found that those settings seem to really work best for me... If the sun is set too low, it can make everything appear too dark.

In the interim, you might consider trying plotting to dwf or pdf and submit those to your plotter.

Views with shadows are inherently raster and will print as slow as regular shaded views. The actual speed depends on the efficiency of a particular printer driver (pdf and dwf are also printed via their printer drivers). Some printers may behave poorly while others could be OK. Your printer mileage may vary.

While I think that Revit 7.0 is a great release, I have been highly disappointed with this thread. When I read the title, I thought I was going to see some provocative images of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears (Federline), and Ashley Simpson. :(
