I'm getting this error when rendering. All files are on a network drive, in the same folder as the revit file. I left a render working overnight and everything was fine, this morning I'm test rendering in a new view and I get this error message. All custom images (material textures and decals) are reported missing and those items render with their default surface colour. I have to reassign them.

Anyone know why this happens?

I get that sometimes too. I found that if you go to Settings->Options, Rendering Tab, and add the path/paths to the folders where those images are contained to your "Additional Render Appearance Paths" it fixes the errors. Doesn't seem like you should have to do that, but that's what's worked for me...

I have experienced the same problems regarding decals. I found that saving the image as in bmp-format in stead of jpg solved the issue.

It leaves mw wondering why this caused problems at all, since jpg is one of the file types you can choose from in the decal settings...

I´ve been strugling with this isue for some time now, but can CONFIRM that using .bmp files seems to solve the problem - .jpg´s just seem to disapeer, even when getting the preview in the material dialog... Tommorow i´m gonna run a few more tests, and see if .png is any better (my preffered format anyway)

This very subject popped up on the Revit Clinic today:

There is a suggestion that it is the type of compression used in jpg files which causes problems.
