Does anyone know of any good books to help getting started with Revit, after using Autocad for 20 years. I'm taking my first class with Revit and would like to get to the point I was with Autocad as soon as I can. I have been recently laid off and have some time on my hands, and was thinking about taking a project I did recently (with autocad) and do it in Revit. What would be a good reference guide?
Thanks,
Vern

Welcome aboard. Learning Revit makes for an interesting ride for the first six months or so.

Rather than books, I would recommend video tutorials. Personally, I find it much easier to follow what someone is doing on a screen and transfer that to my screen rather than read a book. There are quite a few on YouTube. I subscribed (and am still subscribed) to CadCips. I have found them to be quite good.

Good luck with it all.

Yes- find some video clips online and read these forums "religiously". They are how I learned most of what I know! There are also some blogs that are worth checking out periodically...

http://designreform.net/
http://insidethefactory.typepad.com/
http://revitbeginners.blogspot.com/
http://buildz.blogspot.com/

this is not exhaustive by any means...these are some of the ones I look at although they may be a little advanced in some ways...

I always tell people new to Revit to start with the Revit supplied tutorials. It's the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to get your feet wet. If you go thru them all you will learn much of what you need to know to get going. After that you can start exploring deeper and learning the more advanced parts of Revit.
